Lepus is a home based small scale manufacturer located in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Lepus firmly fits the archetype of the “guy in a garage“ manufacturer, we are small, but small is agile. We focus on working closely with clients, involving them in the creative process of of designing new product, or improving on an existing systems. How a user interacts with the product is critical to our design process, and we seek elegant solutions that meet the needs of the user without compromising function, sacrificing on aesthetics, or incurring unreasonable costs.
Our defined products centre around a modular design principal providing flexibility in form, function, and ease of repair, A a product should meet the needs of its user, and provide the user with enough flexibility to shape their own experience. We strive to act counter to a world where products are seen as disposable, and the user is seen as a way to make a quick buck. Users should be empowered by their products not frustrated by them.
Dan is the owner, operator, and jack of all trades that makes Lepus what it is. He is a red seal journeyman machinist, CNC machinist technician, and an mechanical engineering technologist by trade. He has 5 year of practical industry experience working as an industrial machinist in shops producing product ranging from valve and wellhead equipment to custom tool, fixture, and die production. Dan also has 5 years of industry experience working in mechanical design with a focus in the heavy haul transport industry. Creativity is his major driving force for Dan, and life long learning is his goal.
